Children Bed Time Story – The Plumber And The Leaking Taps

Baby Nishant was in LKG class, at the National Public School in his town.  His house was just about a kilo meter from his school.  Every day his father was dropping Nishant at school on his scooter while going to office. His office was very near the school.

It was raining one day.  The roads were very muddy.  That day after dropping Nishant at the school, his father went to his office.  Baby Nishant touched a stone to throw it away.  His hands became muddy.  His friend asked Nishant to wash his hands at the school tap.  Nishant washed his hands with water flowing from the tap.  When he tried to close the tap, it did not close properly.  The tap was actually leaking.  Nishant went to his class teacher Miss. Goyal and reported about the leaking tap.  Miss. Goyal said that only a plumber can repair the leaking tap.  But she did not know any plumber.  Baby Nishant had seen his father calling a plumber whenever some tap at his house were leaking. He immediately gave the phone number of his father to his teacher to call his father for help.  Miss. Goyal telephoned Nishant’s father and requested him to send a plumber to repair the leaking tap.

Baby Nishant’s father immediately called Mr. Aleem, the plumber over phone and asked him to go to the National Public School and contact Miss. Goyal.  Plumber Aleem came to the school immediately and contacted Miss. Goyal.    Miss. Goyal asked Nishant to show the leaking tap to plumber Aleem.  Baby Nishant took Plumber Aleem to the leaking tap.  Miss. Goyal also followed them.

Plumber Aleem opened his tool box.  He closed the main valve which is supplying water from the overhead water tank.  Then he took out some spanners and removed the leaking tap.  He fixed another new tap in place of the leaking tap.  Then he opened the main valve of the overhead water tank.  Now the leakage was stopped completely.

Miss.Goyal paid Rs.100/- to Plumber Aleem.  But he wanted Rs.200/-.  Miss. Goyal telephoned to Nishant’s father and asked him to talk to Plumber Aleem.  Nishant’s father negotiated and settled the deal to Rs.150/-.  Miss. Goyal  paid Rs.150/- to plumber Aleem.  She thanked Baby Nishant’s father for the timely help. Baby Nishant was very happy.
