Best Gift to Mother – Family Short Story

I was going back home after 3 month of my first posting. I was very happy and excited. I purchased gifts for my siblings, relatives and friends… for almost everyone who I supposed to meet in the coming vacation.
I clearly remember the day when I reached home. I got a warm reception by everybody including a tight hug by my father and a cozy hug from my mother with wet eyes. Overall it was an unforgettable moment for me. When we set after a while I gave the gift packs with love and honor to all the related persons: to my father, siblings, uncle, aunty, friends, couple of neighbors… When I finished my uncle asked “Haven’t you brought any gift for your mother?” He was right, I had nothing for my mother and I was speechless. The atmosphere in the room was getting tensed.
Suddenly I saw a smile on my mom face as she broke the silence, “He has given me the best gift ‘PROUD’ as he has pleased everyone else,” hugging me with great affection.
“Love you Mom, this story is for you”
