A Season Long Past

The season of love

Must be gone…

The season of youth, new blossoms,

Fresh foliage, frolic, and frantic search…

For true love,

Must be long over.

Spring is surely well past…

As the monsoons arrive,

It is time to bid farewell

To sunny days bygone.

As I feel the rain

The incessant rain, so full of persuasion

Like my feelings….which refuse to leave my mind;

Love is not always kind.

After the first few showers

It is only in vain,

If you wish away the rain.

You must be drenched too

Without my pretty umbrella

To protect you,

Or you may be waiting,

Waiting for the rains to cease…

By your window waiting…

Like me…

With thoughts drenching your soul

Thoughts of deep longing…

Passion of a multitude of hues

Buried within…

Brewing up in you,

Like fresh tea leaves

Slowing waking you up,

From your unfaithful dreams

Wetting your eyes,

With broken promises

What cloudy weather,

The air heavy with the burden of our unfulfilled dreams…

With only the wind being merry,

Whistling through the gulmohurs,

Jeering at our destinies.

The wind breezing through our windows,

Rushing into our lives,

And changing the tide of our times.

The rain knocking on the window panes

But bringing no news of my beloved

The unfaithful rain…

As it washes away our tears,

But cannot sweep away our love.

The Blues Of First Love

I don’t know why I am feeling this way,

Please rid me of this feeling I say;

You keep on gazing at me intently,

And I go on praying silently;

God! Let me forget this feeling…

This feeling so overwhelming…

This feeling so breathtaking…

This feeling so undeniable…

Yes, I’m in love with you…

Wish you were not so dashing,

Or all the hatred I gathered for you will take a beating.

In spinning a web of deceit,

Wish you were not that good,

Then on steady ground I would have stood.

All I desire is to be free,

Free to fly far from love,

Far from love untrue,

I feel too blue.

I only pray to be free

From the shackles of your infatuation,

I can feel it’s only your infatuation,

Or maybe just over-dosage of passion.

I was once happy,

Because then I was not in love.

But now I am losing my way,

All I can do is pray,

For the storm of my passion to be over,

For the ceasing of this fever,

For the blues of first love to be over…
