Poem – Visiting Wales
© Anand Vishnu Prakash, YourStoryClub.com

On Saturday afternoon it was such a lovely bright day on the fifth of June

Exactly like the local weather forecasted for this week

So much so I decided to go for a day trip to Wales to spend most of my afternoon there

Saying to myself it would be a shame to stay at home putting my feet up on a day like this

It was still only England after all, not the tropic countries, unfortunately

So I had to take an occasional opportunity to visit Wales

At first for a while I was not really sure of where in Wales I most wanted to visit

So I thought carefully back to the last place in Wales; that me and my family went to last summer

Then I straight away remember, it was the great city called Cardiff. The Cardiff name rang a bell to me.

This afternoon I was definitely planning to visit Cardiff, especially the beach down there

So after I had eaten some lunch which consisted of one cheese and cucumber sandwich

My father promised to drive me in his car to give me a lift by the railway station car park

Which was just a ten minutes driving distance from our house in Lipton

I just got out of the car just by the local newsagents shop and walked to the Lipton railway station

And I was almost that afternoon quite late and nearly missed the right train I needed to take from Lipton

After about 1 hour and a quarter hours of sitting in the train just watching outside of the train window

Of all the passing hills and stunning looking countryside views during the train journey there

I finally arrived in Cardiff and had just a ten minutes walk all the way to the beach just by the Bristol channel

Circling above me not that far off there were cries of sea gulls and I slowly took in the strong smell of the sea

I absolutely loved the smell of the sea myself, one of my favourite smells actually besides the smell of cinnamon and roses

And I watched the sea tides of the Bristol channel slowly going by themselves

That same afternoon was one of the most memorable  trips I have taken in a long time

I will never forgot that very afternoon
