Pain of a Precious Gold

Published by Anjana in category Poetry with tag heart | Life | stone

Every evenings she walk along with just herself

Chatter with her or laugh with her,

sometimes weep with her, and even quarrel with her.

But the most important thing is

it is the only time she will be herself totally

At times she saw flashback of her life.

Cherishes the beautiful memories of her life

She laments at her unfulfilled dreams.

Laugh like a stupid for the things she had cried in past

And burst out into tears for the moments she missed.

She recall how she had forgot herself in between many roles

Like an actress who act everywhere for no reason

She , occasionally, feel alone in the midst of a crowd but never with her own company.

She read somewhere

“Befriend with oneself is the best way of avoiding loneliness”.

She is literary living it

She reminded how the ambiance of her home called her

With a mother’s love, father’s care & sibling’s warmth.

Now nobody is there to call her.

Even if they are there she will get a refugee only for a few days.

Then she will become nobody there , that was experience taught her.

Soon will she go back to a home where she is everywhere but in reality nowhere.

Everything but nothing precisely

She sometimes remember how honest her better half was

He promised to look after her like gold or gem (which one – she can’t strike the note exactly)

He was right.

He treated her like gold

Which has no life and only useful either in

Grand occasions or when there is an emergency

She lives like a precious stone that see the outer world once in a blue moon

Never he cared about the feelings of that precious stone

Who is locked in a dark cupboard

with all its beauty and quality

which was fading away in futile

It longed for a space more than that cupboard but nobody noticed

One fine day he found out a trendy , neoteric and a novel jewel

And that was the time he realise that

the jewel with him lost its beauty and charm

As like every legatee he decided to exchange

His old jewels with the new one.

He took the old jewel from the locker

Which makes it super happy for a while

As it get a chance to see the world.

But happiness leads to a never ending misery

As she comes to know that she is going to be replaced.

How beautiful it would have been

if God give us one more organ called filter

To filter every unwanted miseries before it reaches

To our head and heart, She thought.

Then she felt pity for the new one

which is going to experience the same plight

she had gone through,

But the shining of the new one on that particular day

made the old one silent.

All sorts of liberty that she desired once is owned by her now,

Nobody to question and nobody is there to listen her answers

But she is missing something that she can’t give a proper name.

With that missing she bid good bye for the evening walk

Looking forward to recollect the best memories for the following day’s walk.
